Statutory Executive – Direct & Indirect Taxation
Position Overview
The Statutory Executive will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements related to direct and indirect taxation. This includes accurate and timely filing of tax returns, handling tax assessments, coordinating with auditors and consultants, and keeping the company updated with evolving tax regulations. The role requires strong technical knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory compliances, along with excellent analytical and documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all statutory returns including GST, TDS, and Income Tax.
- Assist in tax planning to optimize tax liabilities within the framework of applicable laws.
- Maintain proper documentation for tax assessments, audits, and statutory notices.
- Reconcile tax-related accounts and ensure proper accounting treatment of tax transactions.
- Coordinate with external tax consultants, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
- Monitor and interpret changes in tax laws and assess their impact on business operations.
- Assist in handling tax queries and correspondence with tax authorities.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provision and reporting activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Accounting/Finance; CA Inter or equivalent preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in statutory compliance, taxation, and accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory compliances.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP software.
- Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
